QUEENS ATHLETICS

During my time with Queens University Athletics, I worked across multiple sports programs to capture, edit, and publish engaging digital content for social media and internal use. I collaborated closely with the athletics communications team to maintain the university’s brand identity while producing media that celebrated student-athletes and enhanced fan engagement.

As the first Assistant Director of Social Media & Digital Content for Queens University Athletics, I led the transition of our digital strategy to focus on visual storytelling and promotional aspects of athletics. This shift allowed individual team pages to shine while repositioning the main athletics account as a platform for brand-wide storytelling.

My responsibilities included:

  • Creating and managing engaging content for both the main athletics page and individual team accounts.

  • Developing and executing Media Day plans, ensuring each sport received consistent and professional visual coverage.

  • Organizing and streamlining digital asset management, making media content readily accessible for the communications and creative teams.

  • Scheduling and coordinating Graduate Assistants and Interns, assigning game-day content coverage, and maintaining weekly creative meetings.

  • Traveling with teams to capture photo and video content for conference games, including historic first conference appearances.

This role combined creative direction, leadership, and hands-on production, strengthening my ability to manage a team, maintain a cohesive brand voice, and bring athletic stories to life through digital content.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITY

SOCIAL MEDIA

As we transitioned from Division II to Division I, our goal was to shift the account to be the primary source and voice for each team at the university. The goal was to create a page that was promotional and educational for all of our audiences: coaches, athletes, students, staff, parents, and stakeholders. Over the past two years, we've highlighted many firsts, buzzer beaters, and overall showcased the outstanding sports teams on campus.

QUEENS MEDIA ROOM

Creating a space where Queens Athletics could capture their athletes in new gear and capture high-quality photos was the mission I was on. At the end of my first year, I took an abandoned room. I began mapping out a studio, forming different areas for multicolored backdrops, a man-made, rebranded logo wall, and an interview corner where we could get to know our athletes and coaching staff.
